10 of October is a birthday of Italian opera genius Giuseppe Verdi, and it is in 2013 that the whole world is celebrating his 200th Anniversary. To mark this very special occasion, Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre is organizing a celebratory Giuseppe Verdi’s (1813 - 1901) Week. From 4 to 10 October you shall have a possibility to see Verdi’s operas that are currently shown at the LNOBT, to meet famous artists and to witness a unique ceremony, during which an Opera Emeritus award shall be bestowed for the first time in history to the Lithuanian opera legend Virgilijus Noreika.
