LNOBT is Ready to Celebrate Christmas

"

2012-12-04

Charming Christmas trees can now be seen not only in the major squares of the city. For the first time the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre welcomed a majestic fir tree from the forests of Vilkija that is now gracing our Red Foyer. From now on the theatregoers will be able to experience festive emotions as soon as they step in to watch performances. The Christmas spirit is no doubt the strongest if you're planning to see P. Tchaikovsky's ballet ""The Nutcracker""!

Winter holidays are unimaginable at the theatre without ""The Nutcracker"". From 30 November to 27 January LNOBT is showing 12 performances of this masterpiece that shall definitely appeal to both the children and their parents. And after witnessing some of the most magical moments of this fairytale, everyone is welcome to take a picture with the beautiful fir tree, given to the theatre by Mr. Kęstytis Markevičius and Mrs. Gražina Markevičienė. During the intermission you can also enjoy some legendary melted chocolate and then, in the evening, rest your eyes upon the lovely views of Vilnius through the huge windows of theatre's foyer. What can be better than an evening spent at the theatre?

While you're looking for presents to give to your loved ones, please remember those, who are unable to get tickets to the theatre - we invite you to purchase a Gift Coupon and provide your relatives or friends with a charming evening at the theatre.

Other performances shown in December include opera ""L'elisir d'amore"" (8 December) and ""La traviata"" (December 19), operettas ""Die lustige Witwe"" (12 December) and ""Wiener Blut"" (14 December). LNOBT is also organizing Christmas Music Concerts in the Chamber Hall (21, 26 December) and, of course, awaiting its newest premiere - J. Strauss' operetta ""Die Fledermaus"" on 31 December (other performances: 3, 4 and 5 January).
