Gabrielė Bukinė

BIOGRAPHY

Gabrielė Bukinė completed her master's studies at the Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Music in 2021, in the singing class of Professor Sabina Martinaitytė. Since 2020, she has been a soloist at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre, and since 2021 she has been a singing lecturer at the VMU Academy of Music. In 2024, after completing her internship at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, she became the soloist with its opera company.

Vladimiras Prudnikovas (Lithuania), Francesco Bottigliero (Italy), Michael Woodwood (United Kingdom), Tomasz Konieczny (Poland), Carmen Santoro (Italy), John Fisher (UK) – these are just some of those whose master classes the soloist has attended. She also gained experience during an internship at the Polish Grand Opera House “Teatr Wielki” with prof. Izabela Kłosińska, Matthias Rexroth and Eytan Pessen.

In 2023, Gabrielė Bukinė became the laureate of the 13th International Klaudia Taev Competition (Estonia) 1st place and the Audience Award. Also, since 2017, she has been a diploma holder and GRAND PRIX laureate of fourteen other international competitions in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Russia, Kazakhstan. She has earned the A. Smetona Award (twice), “Intermedix Lietuva”, “R1 Lietuva”, VMU Honorary and Encouragement Scholarships, and was awarded letters of appreciation from the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. In 2022, she was awarded the Statuette of Fortuna for the roles created in 2021: Violetta (in the opera “La Traviata”, for which she was also nominated for the “Golden Cross of the Stage”) and Fiorilla (in the opera “Il turco in Italia”). In 2023, she was awarded the Kaunas City Culture Prize. In 2024, LNOBT has recognized her as the Opera Hope of the Year, also, by the audience vote, as the Most Beloved Soloist of the Year, and in 2025 – as the Opera Soloist of the Year for the roles of Sister Angelica and Antonia created in 2024. For these roles and the role of Mimi in the opera “La boheme” in 2025, she received the “Golden Cross of the Stage”.
