I can only state that it is a success, which I perceive as a theatrical miracle.
Edmundas Gedgaudas, “7 meno dienos”, 2004
With this staging of “La juive”, the Lithuanian National Opera has achieved a musical triumph in its repertoire, and the production itself is a world-class spectacle that would be easily welcomed in theatres of Berlin or Vienna.
B. Schaller, “Das Opernglas”, 2004
Such reviews were accompanying one of LNOBT's most successful productions, Fr. Halevy's opera "La juive", which premiered at our theatre in 2004. In fact, "La juive" became the most coveted opera on the LNOBT tour, with great success at three international festivals in Hungary, Poland and Slovenia. The same production also received its premiere at the Gothenburg Theatre, where our soprano Regina Šilinskaitė sang the part of Eudoxia during all performances. As time went on, many people witnessed this production, some watched it a few times ... And lo and behold, after five years of silence, Fr. Halevy's “La juive” returns to the LNOBT with new energy. The same amazing performance, the same immortal music, but - new performers, new impressions, new emotions.
Première 15 October, 2004
