HENRYK MIKOLAJ GÓRECKI – Symphony No. 3, Op. 36 ("Symphony of Sorrowful Songs")

The LNOBT cherishes a beautiful tradition to mark Freedom Defenders’ Day with a special concert, during which, in honor and protection of the memory of the fallen defenders of freedom, the most outstanding works of sacred music are played. In 2024, on 13 January, Polish composer H. Górecki's three-part Symphony of Sorrowful Songs shall be performed.  Composed in 1976, it is often performed around the world as one of the composer's most sensitive works.
